The Finals

And now there are four . Its down to the final four football teams competing this weekend for the chance to win the ultimate prize of a premiership cup. All the remaining teams are Victorian . They are Geelong with the most recent finals success in 2007. Collingwood , arguably the most famous AFL club with a huge local and global fan base .The remaining two teams , the St Kilda and Western Bulldogs are the sentimental favourites .Neither has won more than one premiership with  the former tasting victory 43 years ago and the latter 55 years ago .The Doggies and Sainters play off in a friday night game which means one will be eliminated . The Magpies who incredibly bounced back to score a one kick victory against the Crows tackle the Cats on Saturday .Whatever the outcome the thrills and spills of this season culminate in a rip roaring Grand Final of which there can only be one winner . Will it be the hapless Saints who have put in a superlative season . Can the Doggies snatch it and bring the cup home to a beleagured West . Is it the tenacious Magpies who seem to be able to pull something out of the box come September . Or ultimately will the Cats prevail heralding more success for that lean , mean playing machine .Whatever the outcome fans everywhere will be glued to TV ‘s , big screens or radios world wide barracking , hoping or praying that their team gets over the line .
