I was at the MCG, AFL footy Game , on Friday night  . The fun started on the train ride in . The Sandy line train was late , so upon arrival at Elsternwick station it quickly filled up , with Tigers and Saints fans . Much banter and good humoured ribbing ensued throughout the journey . At the ground the friendly rivalry continued . The spectacle , excitement and atmosphere around the ground was feverish .
All fans , many wearing their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys ,wanted to enjoy themselves and have a good time supporting their team . It was the night of the Tiger . They defeated the slower Saints team and deserved the cheers of their loyal fans . The crowded train ride home continued in the light heated jocular vein of the earlier ride . Â Fans of both teams traded stories about which teams they loved to hate , and nights spent in the social club after the match , often joined by players .
Richmond and St Kilda fans have experienced highs and lows , whilst continuing to love their teams .  It was a night of good old fashioned footy fun , where  fans were not behaving badly . Racial slurs , drug scandals and cries of rapist were absent . Now if only the Saints can have a win !
