Where are we at ?
Carlton thinking they are winners
Hawks posing as winners
Demons desperately wanting to be winners
Cats quietly winning
Collingwood still winning
Bulldogs almost winning
St Kilda not winning
Kangaroos winning some of the time
Essendon acting like winners

Eagles winning in the West
Freo believing they can win

Power hoping they will win their next
Crows spending money to win
Will Greater West Sydney win in 2012 ?

Everyone who owns an AFL Football Jumper , generally enjoys a love / hate relationship with it .
Your team wins , you are proud to be seen in it . It is waved in the air like an out of control hills hoist , or worn proudly to weddings , parties , anything . Flashback to the aftermath of the 2010 Grand Final

90's AFL logo
when Melbourne Town , was under a black and white haze for weeks .
If your team loses do you slink from the ground , hiding your jumper away , feeling depressed , all the while wishing you can remove it , unseen from prying eyes ? Does it languish in the bottom of your cupboard being silently punished for being the wrong colour , waiting to be given a second chance ?
Most fans will always love their jumper . Why blame it , if their team can't find the goals , are playing like a bunch of old women , or just allow themselves to be crushed by a stronger opponent . Footy jumpers know loyal fans will " Stand by You " and that " Its only a game " . You can pick your footy team but you can't pick on your footy jumper . Adoption rates are high for pre-loved football jumpers.

Its Summer in the Southern Hemisphere , and the Christmas/ New Year festive season is approaching .
One of the headline stories on the front page , of the Saturday Age newspaper ,screamed " My Year of Pain ," exclusive interview with Ross Lyon . He is the St Kilda Football Team Coach . The Saints lost to the Collingwood Magpies in the historic replay of the 2010 Grand Final . Readers were exhorted to read further.
It would appear , AFL football is never out of the news, no matter what else is going on, or what time of year it is , in football mad Melbourne .
The AFL would be delighted with such high level media exposure in the non - playing season . Footy starved fans will be relishing every headline grabbing statement .
In keeping with this spirit , many afl football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys will be wished for this festive season .Young and old fans , alike would love one in their Christmas stocking .

Just noticed on facebook , that an avid afl football fan , had designed his own jumper . It was a Collingwood Magpies football jumper , jersey , guernsey, that had his name printed across the bottom , and the number 1 above it . Is he an obsessive footy fan , or just , " a dedicated follower of fashion " ( 60 's Kinks song ) ? Its an interesting exploitation of the magpies brand . Or is it a clever marketing ploy , by Eddie and the gang , to wring even more bucks from the famous name ?
The mind boggles , at the possible combinations . If the fashion takes off , Santa could be very

Melb Ports old Swans Home
Last weekend , in the leafy confines , of Orrong Road , Toorak , I spotted a huge , Collingwood Magpies team logo , painted on a front fence . Is it Eddie's McGuires pad , or just an ardent fan , still revelling in post Grand Final glory ?
Perhaps they got the idea , from Molly Meldrums annual painting of his Richmond fence , in Melbourne Storm , and St Kilda Saints colours ?
Also spotted yesterday , at a downtown Middle Park cafe , were Simon Crean, and Bill Kelty . They were joined by Brett Kirk , recently retired , AFL Sydney Swans player .
Wine , amidst BLT's , with icons of AFL footy plus Victorian Unionist and Federal pollies !
An eclectic mix , or a peculiarly Victorian formula for success?
It begs the question , is Captain Kirk , about to enter politics with the endorsement of the labor power brokers , in the Swans former heartland of Melbourne Ports ?
Footy and Labor , a heady mix !
It might be the off season for AFL Football , but its never completely out of our life .
Many fans are still wearing their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys , or like the owner of the fence , boldly enjoying victory.

A Football Jumper is not just for Christmas . It can be worn anywhere , anytime , in AFL obsessed Melbourne Town .
In fact , anywhere AFL football is played , a football jumper , jersey , guernsey, is considered a must have item , in the wardrobe .

Vintage Richmond Jumper
Summer , is fast approaching , as is Christmas . What better gift idea , than a new , or vintage football jumper , jersey , guernsey , tucked into the Christmas stocking .
Why I wouldn't be surprised, if Santa , makes his rounds this year, wearing a Collingwood, football jumper , jersey , guernsey . They have so many fans , particularly after their recent success , I think Santa , may be a closet Magpies fan . Shh! don't tell the elves though , or he could have a revolt at the North Pole .
Make sure you buy the real thing . There is no comparison between an authentic , licensed with sponsors , just like the players wear, footy jumper, to a cheap imitation knock off . Recipients of the jumper , will know the difference , and to quote that old advertisement , for arnotts biscuits " there is no substitute for quality ".

It was announced on ABC radio, today , 4th November 2010 , that " VicSwim" , the school holiday , learn to swim program , may be axed.
Is this wise ? considering that Australia is a vast , island continent , surrounded on all sides by the sea . It is estimated that at least 18 % of young people cannot swim , and a further 25% of adults , also cannot swim .
It begs the question , " Will AusKick be scrapped ? "
The popular, afl football clinic , has become an entrenched part , of the Saturday morning routine , for families , with children of a certain age . All go along to the match , wearing their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys , to learn how to play Aussie Rules .

Picture this , a local suburban park , inner Melbourne , Saturday morning , 10.00 am .
Two ovals , two teams playing Cricket in their traditional white sporting gear.
A cluster of parents and supporters are looking on . Several , are wearing their AFL Football Jumpers , Jerseys , Guernseys.
It may be Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, when the sporting code shifts away from AFL Football , to Cricket , but many a fans thoughts, never stray far from AFL footy .
Many continue to wear their beloved jumper , jersey , guernsey, whatever the Season , or sport being played , and watched .
