Parts of Melbourne's CBD will be closed for todays AFL Finals Parade . A cavalcade of Geelong and Collingwood players , will travel down city streets , wearing their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys .The predicted cold , showery weather , will prevent some fans from attending the parade , and stop the players from walking the meet and greet .

Tigers for 2012 Parade ?
Further cold weather is forecast for Saturdays Grand Final with low temperatures , rain and hail expected . Those Fans , lucky enough to get seats , albeit out in the open at the MCG , will need to wear waterproof football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys .
Can Collingwood go back to back ? Or will the Cats take the Cup home to Geelong ?

AFL Season 2011 rolls on with some interesting results , from the Weekends matches . St Kilda did enough to quell the Dockers , the Cats thrashed the Suns at Geelong , and the Bombers scored a plucky win when Swans skipper Goodes, missed the winning goal , from the top of the goal square . The Crows just edged out the Lions on the Gabba .

Lost their Power ?
The Hawks and Kangaroos slogged it out in wet, freezing conditions in Tasmania, for a Hawks win , and the Eagles held off a fast finishing Tigers side, over in the West . Carlton easily beat Melbourne , and in a huge blowout , Collingwood mercilessly flogged the Power , in a bitterly cold and wet match , on Saturday night in Adelaide.

Blues keep winning
Players are talking trades , coaches are being head hunted , and fans are relishing every moment of the on field football action . As bemused , passive observers of the off field manoeuvrings, spectators are getting to matches , showing their support by wearing their teams football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys . All are hoping their team makes it to the Finals series.

The third round of matches for the 2011 AFL Season, saw Collingwood beat Carlton , Geelong thrash Port , Western Bulldogs annihilate the Gold Coast Suns , Freo beat Adelaide , Sydney outplay the Eagles , and Hawthorn thrash Richmond .
St Kilda's dismal start to the season continued when they performed poorly against the youthful Bombers in show off red shorts , and Melbourne snatched defeat from the Brisbane Lions . Collingwood appear unstoppable in their relentless pursuit of the 2011 premiership flag . A record breaking crowd of 88, 000 + delirious fans revelled , in the unfurling of the 2010 premiers flag , pre match at the MCG.
All weekend , fans streamed into grounds in their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys , to watch from the grandstands , listen via radio , or view the Match on TV .
Nothing beats the fast action , or the adrenaline rush , when your team hits the front . Its not for the faint hearted , nor are the new style football jumpers / guernseys , which mould to fit the players body shape like a glove !

She has called a federal election , for Saturday the 21 st August .
The home and away matches, of the AFL Season, end on 28 August .

Is it just coincidence , or did Gillard not want the election to clash with the Finals ?

Will the Crows make the FInals?

The Riewoldt playing phenomenom , has hit the Richmond Football Club.
Jack Riewoldt , younger cousin to St Kilda Superstar Nick , has re-ignited the Richmond Football Club's playing style, and given fans hopes of a bright future.
Following dismal form last year , and poor results earlier in the season the Tigers , have bounced into a winning style , all of the boot of this talented youngster.
The Saints, look foward to welcoming his Cousin Nick , back to the fold in round 15 of the AFL season .This follows ecovery from an horrific hamstring injury, sustained earlier in the year.

Matthew Richardson the likeable Tasmanian footballer announced his retirement from the Richmond FC over the summer break.
Tonight he will be honoured as one of the all time great players when he walks a lap of honour around the MCG.
This walk is pre game entertainment prior to the first match of the 2010 AFL Season between Richmond and Carlton .
There has been much coverage of this event in the media and cardboard cut out face masks of 'Richo' are available .
Large numbers of fans off both teams will be at the game in their team colour jumper , jersey , guernsey , some with the masks.
This repeats a trend that has developed when great players retire . A recent example was when Robert Harvey retired from the St Kilda Saints.
Avid supporters will wear or hold up the "Richo" mask above their jumper , jersey , guernsey.
It raises the question about other players retirements.
When Barry Hall retires from the Western Bulldogs will the MCG be awash with cardboard cut outs of his face . A very scary thought!

Are the Blues finally coming out of the wilderness? find out 26 mar
20th march 2009
The AFL season kicks off next Thursday night the 26th of March with an opening block buster between traditional rivals Carlton and Richmond at the MCG at 7.40pm EST .
It promises to be a fantastic contest with two of the League's up and coming Flag contenders going head to head in what promises to be a fitting curtain raiser to the season .
All the big names will be playing including the new look Brendan Fevola sporting a shaven head playing for the Blues . The spearhead for the Blues has had a quiet summer concentrating on training and getting fit and will run on to the "G" in fine condition with the trademark curls well tamed like his temper hoping to provide the blues with a great start to the season.Have Carlton got what it takes to beat a rejuvenated Richmond in front of a huge home town crowd.?
The big news at Tigerland is the debut of Ben Cousins in his first AFL game since his well publicized battle with drug addiction . Can he give the fans and the Tigers their money's worth and will he provide a glimmer of hope to fans long starved of premiership success?
It should be a ripper of a curtain raiser to the AFL's 2009 Home and Away Season .

GFC or the Geelong Cats , as they are known on footy fixtures so as not to be confused with the acronym Global Financial Crisis provided fans with a pre season taste of real life footy action that the fans hope they will bring to the 09 season.
As winnners of the 07 premiership and runners up to the Hawks in 08's GrandFinal Cats Fans everywhere are hopeful that this Grand Final win will be repeated in the 09 AFL Season .Can they shake of the pussy cat tag once and for all !
Docklands Football Ground has changed names again and is now known as Etihad Stadium . It has had various name changes in recent times including Colonial Stadium and Telstra Dome and now it is the UAE air carriers turn to weigh in with a piece of the sponsorship pie . Do players fly like a jet ? or are fans in for an armchair ride with new naming rights ?
