AFL Season 2011 rolls on with some interesting results , from the Weekends matches . St Kilda did enough to quell the Dockers , the Cats thrashed the Suns at Geelong , and the Bombers scored a plucky win when Swans skipper Goodes, missed the winning goal , from the top of the goal square . The Crows just edged out the Lions on the Gabba .

Lost their Power ?
The Hawks and Kangaroos slogged it out in wet, freezing conditions in Tasmania, for a Hawks win , and the Eagles held off a fast finishing Tigers side, over in the West . Carlton easily beat Melbourne , and in a huge blowout , Collingwood mercilessly flogged the Power , in a bitterly cold and wet match , on Saturday night in Adelaide.

Blues keep winning
Players are talking trades , coaches are being head hunted , and fans are relishing every moment of the on field football action . As bemused , passive observers of the off field manoeuvrings, spectators are getting to matches , showing their support by wearing their teams football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys . All are hoping their team makes it to the Finals series.

Saints back in winning form
Some interesting results came from the weekend round of AFL matches . Several teams had wins following a string of losses , most notably the Bombers , Crows and Lions. A surprising outcome was the Bombers victory, over the previously undefeated Cats . Carlton thrashed the Tigers , and Collingwood defeated the Hawks , in front of a massive 84,000 crowd at the MCG .

Carlton poised to cause an upset in the Finals
The top four teams of the ladder seem set , the next four less so . Several teams are just outside the top eight , and need to keep winning , in order to secure a place in the Finals .
At this crucial point of the Season , fans supported their teams , wearing their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys , and enjoyed the spectacle of watching good footy played .
Some questions remain .
Will the Players request for greater revenue from TV coverage rights , make a dent in Andrew Demetriou's offshore fish and chip fund ?
Can the Magpies win another Flag ?.
When will the media stop reporting on Eddie McGuire's every spoken word, and action?

Can CFC make it 16?

Could be situation normal , at round 7 , of the 2011 AFL Football Season.

Will Lions win their first Game for 2011 against Suns ?
Where are we at ?
Carlton thinking they are winners
Hawks posing as winners
Demons desperately wanting to be winners
Cats quietly winning
Collingwood still winning
Bulldogs almost winning
St Kilda not winning
Kangaroos winning some of the time
Essendon acting like winners
Brisbane wanting to win
Suns trying to win
Eagles winning in the West
Freo believing they can win
Swans winning in Sydney
Lions not winning at all
Tigers win / loss / draw
Power hoping they will win their next
Crows spending money to win
Will Greater West Sydney win in 2012 ?
When you wear your Football Jumper, you feel , and look like a winner , despite your teams win , loss or draw.

The Saints , Cats , Hawks , Magpies , Suns , Blues , Tigers and Freo all had a good day at the office for round 5 of the AFL footy fixture . The Swans , Demons , and Eagles all had a rest .

Win this Eagles Jumper to wear to the footy
Many highlights and great entertainment was provided over the extended round of matches for the Easter / Anzac Day holiday break . A milestone was reached by the Suns , when they won their first AFL Game . Collingwood proved too strong for Essendon , and Geelong looked good against the Hawks .
The Saints posted their first win for season 2011 , as did the Tigers ,who proved more accurate in front of goals than the Kangaroos , with young spearhead , Jack Riewoldt booting five goals . The Bulldogs were unlucky in WA and lost only in the dying minutes of the game to the Dockers .
Fans enjoying the mighty spectacle of a holiday fixture of AFL Football , watched games wearing their beloved football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys .

Two closely contested games were played out on Easter Saturday . In a thrilling finish the Gold Coast Suns defeated Port Power in Adelaide . The Gold Coast Captain , Gary Ablett , played a pivotal part in their win and has perhaps , now , silenced criticism , for staying in Melbourne for 2 extra days after their last defeat.
Carlton were successful against Adelaide , snatching victory by one goal . The beleaguered coach of the Crows , Neil Craig , will be under increasing scrutiny , as his team has had a poor start to the Season .
The eveness of the teams in the competition are reflected in the close results of all matches played so far .
The Anzac Day blockbuster between Collingwood and Essendon , and the following days Geelong Vs Hawthorn match , promise much for eager footy fans .

One size fits Most ?
I don't think so , not in modern , AFL Football jumpers anyway.
The new football jumpers, jerseys , guernseys are made from aerodynamic fabric, and are designed to fit the torso, more snugly than Tony Abbotts budgie smugglers .
A fan , who is normally a size small to medium , will need a size large to extra large .
Julia, had hoped to seize victory as emphatically as the Bulldogs hope to win the premiership flag.
The recent election campaign , has provided as much action as the AFL finals series promises .
Working class heroes Collingwood, can no longer be considered flag favourites , as they almost lost to the tenacious Crows , on Election Day .
Alls fair in politics and football .
There is no such thing as a safe bet , just ask the beleaguered fans of both codes .

The last round of AFL matches, saw very mixed results .
A Magpies tattooed army , trounced a seemingly unstoppable , Saints side.
Dual premiership winners, and league leaders, the Cats, were beaten by out of form Crows .
New glamour side Tigers, were thwarted by Kangaroos, and Blues stopped by Swans .
Freo prevented Demons moving foward, bottom dwellers Eagles , beat luckless Bombers , Hawks thrashed Lions , and Bulldogs defeated de - stabilised Port Power .
Fans , used to mid season , mixed results were out , in their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys to watch all the action.
The lead up to the AFL Finals is on , with the race for closely contested spots beginning.

Despondent Lions

Julia Gillard ,the PM , is a keen Western Bulldogs supporter .
She has called a federal election , for Saturday the 21 st August .
The home and away matches, of the AFL Season, end on 28 August .
AFL Finals Football follows .
Is it just coincidence , or did Gillard not want the election to clash with the Finals ?
Fans will be at all games in their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys to support their teams throughout their finals campaigns.

Will the Crows make the FInals?

The split round of AFL matches, for Round 13 , continues this weekend .
Saints and Cats , play tonight at the MCG , under lights , in front of a huge crowd.
Swans and Magpies, play in Sydney , on Saturday night , at ANZ Stadium .
The Demons, play the Crows , in Adelaide , on Sunday afternoon.
All games will be televised .

Port are having a rest
With only one Game to be played in Melbourne, this weekend , many fans will be reduced , to wearing their football jumpers , jerseys, guernseys , whilst watching footy , on TV .
Disgruntled fans, will be keen to attend next weekend's, full round of matches .
This split round , is it a rest for the AFL players , or a clever marketing move by the AFL hierarchy.?
