Baby Football Jumpers, are a must have fashion item amongst the younger set .
Just ask them . All will say they want a football jumper just like Mum , Dad , older siblings , or their favourite footy player wears .
Luckily , the manufacturers of AFL licensed football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys are aware of this . They produce replica jumpers , just like the players , adults and older kids wear but in baby sizes .
Babies,

baby tiger
everywhere are happy with this . Do your bit and buy them one to wear when out and about . You owe it to them to make sure they look and feel good and that they support the right team .

Just noticed on facebook , that an avid afl football fan , had designed his own jumper . It was a Collingwood Magpies football jumper , jersey , guernsey, that had his name printed across the bottom , and the number 1 above it . Is he an obsessive footy fan , or just , " a dedicated follower of fashion " ( 60 's Kinks song ) ? Its an interesting exploitation of the magpies brand . Or is it a clever marketing ploy , by Eddie and the gang , to wring even more bucks from the famous name ?
The mind boggles , at the possible combinations . If the fashion takes off , Santa could be very

Personalise this with your name and number

Yes , despite all evidence to the contrary , Melbourne is fast approaching summer , and hopefully we will get, warmer weather .
Last Sunday , at St Kilda foreshore , I spotted , in two seperate locations , two young men wearing their AFL Kangaroos football jumpers over the top of their boardshorts . One was wearing lurid orange coloured , floral printed , boardies , whilst the other was in more subdued tones .The football jumper was very prominent because of its colour and style . Surely , as they were in St Kilda' s heartland , they should have been sporting Saints colours !
Whilst on the subject of the Saints , Sam Gilbert was spotted , the day before , crossing Inkerman St , with a female companion in tow , near the site of the remodelled , Newmarket Hotel . Looking tanned and relaxed , following his AFL trip to Ireland for an afl display ,

In Saints home territory
is he now going into the pub game like many other afl footballers ?

In my local area , on Saturday , two fetes were advertised, promising appearances by , AFL football teams .
Richmond Football Club , were promised to appear at the Very Special Kids, fundraiser in Malvern .
Melbourne Football Club , attended the Elsternwick Primary school fete , in Brighton , on the same day .
Spotted in the crowd at Malvern , was a little boy , wearing his Richmond Clash colours , football jumper , jersey , guernsey . Peering through the crowd , he appeared to be anxiously awaiting the arrival of his favourite player . Likewise at Brighton , several young fans , wearing Melbourne colours , were spotted , milling in the crowd .
Must be the end of year , fete season ,where schools and organisations , are hoping to fill their coffers , and raise additional funds by holding these fundraisers .

Baby Dees in the Crowd
Lets hope the little tiger in Malvern, got to see his heroes .

Retro Richmond TAC Sponsors Jumper
Licensed Football jumpers are unique . They carry the teams sponsors , for the current season , or those of a past season . A jumper can be dated, from the sponsor, who appears on the jumper . An example , is the Richmond Tigers , football jumper . In the past, the TAC sponsored them , and they had "drink drive , bloody idiot " , printed on , their team football jumper , jersey , guernsey .
New sponsors sign up each season , and pay for the right to have the advertsing of their brand , on the jumper . Costly for the company , but they receive world wide media coverage , and priceless exposure of their brand .
Chain store football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys do not carry these logos . They sell a generic afl jumper that has the team colours , and team logo /mascot , but not the sponsors .
If you want a jumper just like the players wear , you need to buy a licensed product . You may not be aware of the difference but the fans are . If you are giving one as a gift , or purchasing it for the special person in your life , young or old , buy the genuine article . It is worth spending , the few dollars more . The recipient will be eternally grateful.

A Football Jumper is not just for Christmas . It can be worn anywhere , anytime , in AFL obsessed Melbourne Town .
In fact , anywhere AFL football is played , a football jumper , jersey , guernsey, is considered a must have item , in the wardrobe .

Vintage Richmond Jumper
Summer , is fast approaching , as is Christmas . What better gift idea , than a new , or vintage football jumper , jersey , guernsey , tucked into the Christmas stocking .
Why I wouldn't be surprised, if Santa , makes his rounds this year, wearing a Collingwood, football jumper , jersey , guernsey . They have so many fans , particularly after their recent success , I think Santa , may be a closet Magpies fan . Shh! don't tell the elves though , or he could have a revolt at the North Pole .
Make sure you buy the real thing . There is no comparison between an authentic , licensed with sponsors , just like the players wear, footy jumper, to a cheap imitation knock off . Recipients of the jumper , will know the difference , and to quote that old advertisement , for arnotts biscuits " there is no substitute for quality ".

The Melbourne Cup, has been run and won , and its all over bar the shouting .
Traditionally , the Cup, attracts the more unusual attire, amongst punters and racegoers .
The Members area , Sponsors Marquees , and Fashions on the Field, promote stylish , conservative race day apparel.
Some attendees , wishing to have fun , often dress outrageously , or in a themed mode of dress . With many racegoers , being Collingwood supporters , it begs the question , " Was the traditional black and white of race day , adopted by fans , wearing football jumpers ?"
Increasingly, the humble football jumper , jersey , guernsey , has made a foray into social events , why not the Races ?

Was a Retro Richmond Jumper worn to the Races ?

Spotted a Collingwood Football Jumper , at my local PCYC Gym , Friday , 7.00am .Yes , a bit early to be sporting the sartorial elegance of the Magpies colours, but hey if you've got it, flaunt it . Muscled torso , young pecs , devil may care attitude , all topped of by the premiership winning , teams colours .The wearer seemed oblivious , to the envious stares , or were they annoyed looks , as he was wearing it, at St Kilda PCYC , a stronghold of Saints fans !
The AFL , announced on Thursday, the fixture for the 2011 Season , of Home and Away Matches . Most clubs , seem content with the draw . The AFL , are trying innovative approaches, with spreading more football over week night games ,

another Qld team joins the Competition
and taking afl , to more interstate venues . The new team Gold Coast Suns, play their inaugural home game, against Carlton , on Saturday night 2 April . 2011.
The 2011 season , runs from 24 March 2011 , to 1 October 2011.
The NAB Cup , precedes the Home and Away Season, with matches scheduled, for February 2011.

There is a display relating to suburban footy grounds , and supporters , in "The Melbourne Story " , exhibition at Melbourne Museum.

Old Style Saints Football Jumper
Relive old memories , reminisce with fellow fans , and show the kids where you went to watch footy .
These , Aussie Rules Footy Games , were played at the your local suburban grounds , to smaller crowds, with uncomplicated expectations , apart from the hope that their team would win .
Fans walked , drove , rode a bike or caught the bus , to their local ground , which provided a central community hub , for the locals , and their team .
The local footy ground , provided a site of identity , and belonging, for supporters.
The " Saturday Arvo Fever ", section of the exhibition , might display a bygone era , but fans were still keen to watch their beloved football team , whilst wearing their football jumper , jersey , guernsey.

Modern Lions Football Jumper
Take a look , at the Museum of Melbourne , Nicholson St , Carlton.
