Round 13 , Lucky for some ? The relieved Bulldogs,  finally had a win by beating the luckless Crows , and the Hawks thrashed the Sun Lovers from the North , the GCSFC, in arctic conditions in Tasmania . In cold old Melbourne Town, the Blues beat the Sydneysiders , and the Melbourne FC , annihilated the Dockers , on a wintery day at the MCG .

NMFC continued its winning run , of four in a row , beating a deflated Bombers side . The Cats beat the Saints , who were wearing , predominantly  all black , football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys. The Lions were beaten by the Tigers , and West Coast beat the Power  . Collingwood , had the bye and celebrated by sending some players to Arizona , bemoaning Daisy's suspension , and holding a garage sale of superseded gear , of  the back of a truck !

AFL Football Jumpers , of all colours were worn over the weekend , some traditional , some not . Its past the half way mark of the Season , and the top 4 seem set . These are all  Victorian teams , with proud history's of winning flags , and all boast  strong claims to this years flag . The next three teams outside this group , are interstate teams .

Fans are watching , and are enjoying their footy   , whilst wearing their football jumpers , jerseys , guernseys .

The changing colour of an AFL Football Jumper

Saturday, May 28th, 2011

The humble AFL Football Jumper is no more . Packaged in aerodynamic fabric , now the traditional colours have changed . Carlton, won in the baby blue again last night , and the Tigers replacement of their traditional sash , with a dreamtime painting last weekend , has made the jumpers a highly sought after item .

Blues Clash no more ?

Blues Clash no more ?

Melbourne Demons , are yet to replicate their hot pink strip , of a few years ago, which they  wore as a Breast Cancer fundraiser , but it appears the skys the limit as to who adopts what strip when .

Nicky Winmar's Jumper ?

Nicky Winmar's Jumper ?

Collingwood , are sticking doggedly to their black and white though. Ironic really , as Nicky Winnar , great indigenous Sainter , lifted his footy jumper,  to show his black skin , in the last game the Magpies played against the Saints , at Victoria Park.

AFL Season has started

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Geelong are happy to "get it on "

Geelong are happy to "get it on "

The  AFL season started on Thursday night at the MCG with traditional rivals Carlton and Richmond playing in a much publicised opening game .

Richmond selected newly signed recovering drug addict Ben Cousins on their team along with their other superstars Nathan Brown and Matthew Richardson and up and comer Jack Riewoldt. The Tigers favoured an experienced line up with many experienced players taking on the younger less experienced Blues. The Blues selected four first gamers in keeping with an established team re-building youth policy by Blues Coach Brad Ratten. The Carlton youngsters  all acquitted themselves admirably  helping the Blues to an 83 point win over a lacklustre Richmond side. The Tigers woes were further compounded with a disappointing hamstring injury to Ben Cousins who was forced to leave the ground in the last quarter .It has been confirmed he will miss 3/4 games by embattled Tigers Coach Terry Wallace .

In a closely fought rematch of last  years Grand Final   the Cats were successful victors over  the Hawks by eight points . It proved an action packed contest with fans treated to a great Friday night spectacle at the MCG.  All the big names played hard including Lance Franklin and Luke Hodge for  the Hawks both of whom were reported .The Cats players managed to combine well to beat the Hawks on the night but have also sustained reports for players  Max Rooke reported for rough conduct and teammate Andrew Mackie booked for striking Brent Renouf.
