Achingly close finishes , hopes dashed , thrashings , and spectacular action , AFL Football, provided it all last weekend .
The opening game of the Indigenous round between Essendon and Richmond , packed the ground out . Pre match entertainment and indigenous themed displays  , thrilled the crowd , as did the closely fought tussle between the skilled competitors . Richmond ‘s traditional football jumper , jersey , guernsey, was adorned with a dreamtime design , taken from an original art work , to pay tribute to the enormous contribution , the indigenous community have made to AFL footy . Many fans regard their footy jumpers as a work of art , especially when their team is winning!
